At the next new moon, on 23rd January, the water dragon will cross the canopy of heaven, bringing us strength and protection throughout the year.
When he thinks of 2012, Innyang E.H. Low has a contented smile, for he knows he is safe under the protection of the dragon. He does not worry about the Mayan calendar... As it is, according to the historian Luc Mary, the apocalypse that is predicted for the 21st December 2012 is the 183rd to have been announced since the fall of the Roman Empire, so the end of our civilization is not so close as that.
Solar flares may disturb our satellites but we will continue to send out emails and pictures with our hopes and good wishes for the new year, which we trust will be filled with joy, heightened awareness, and respect for the forces of nature.
To celebrate this event, the Sequence Foundation is bringing out a book about the performances of the artist Innyang E.H. Low, such as the enormous dragon which he created in September 2011 for the tenth anniversary of the EPAC (Academy of Contemporary Art) in Saxon.
In the eyes of the artist, the dragon in this gigantic work, measuring 16 by 20 meters, is a symbol that brings universal peace. It also symbolizes the link between the EPAC and all those who are associated with it, wherever they be in the world – Switzerland, Europe, Taiwan, the United States, New Zealand; in short, this whole community to whom we wish to express our gratitude.
To finance the publication of the book, the Foundation and the artist offer you the opportunity to acquire a dragon scale for the price of CHF 100. We are not referring to scales from the dragons that walked the Earth more than 65 million years ago, but a numbered portion of this unique, powerful work. The canvas will be virtually sliced up into 200 numbered pieces, the original work remaining at the EPAC. A list of the owners will be included in the book, along with their photograph or logo.
To obtain your dragon scale, fill in the application form.
