EPAC – Academy of Contemporary Arts
First Comic & Game Art school in Switzerland
EPAC is a private school with a firm foothold in the Swiss cultural landscape for more than 20 years. The school trains students to become illustrators, comics and game artists while promoting the sense of openness to the world thanks to the unique collaboration with Europe and Asia.
It is situated in the heart of the Valaisan Alps in the municipality of Saxon, in an attractive environment close to urban communities such as Martigny and Sion and less than one hour drive from the city of Lausanne. The students are provided with the area of more than 600 m2 dedicated to narrative art. The training courses consist of a mix of practical and theoretical courses, and workshops given by prominent comics artists, illustrators, screenwriters, game artists or interactive designers. EPAC also collaborates with institutions and Swiss companies allowing students to experience the challenges of the professional world. In 2014 and 2015, projects were carried out for Confederation Parliament Services, for IDIAP - Research Institute, Human and Media Computing, Martigny - Geneva Association of Samaritans or the Etumag magazine distributed in all higher education institutions.
